Details of the Recommendation: "Cheryl has perhaps the biggest heart of anyone I know. She really takes time to take care of her customers and I'm so impressed with her dedication to provide accessible services to those with special needs. She's even learning sign language to better serve the deaf community. As a former teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing, I know quite well what a value they're providing to our community, just in that one capacity.

As a corporate (and personal) customer, I've also been very impressed with Cheryl's commitment to top notch customer service at a reasonable price. At my former position, we'd used their competitor one year and they literally closed our game down midstream (I was bowling a strike for sure as the arm came down!). We switched to Gate City Lanes thereafter and were very pleased with the customer service we received, especially in contrast. Velocity has also hosted an event at Gate City Lanes and we had a great experience working with them.

Just wanted to thank you for allowing us to use the facilities there for our fundraiser.  I was a little disappointed that we did not have the participation I anticipated.  In talking with Linda and Frank, they really were a great inspiration and help to me and letting me know that not always your first time will be what you want.  I am looking forward to giving it another try next year.  It’s my understanding that the ones that participated are already getting their teams together and telling other people how much fun we had.  It’s my understanding that one of the participants is planning to have her child’s birthday party there.  That’s how much she was impressed.

Dear Cheryl, Steve and staff,

Thanks seem inadequate but it is what I have to give. Gate City Lanes has repeatedly show kindness, friendliness and a willingness to support my efforts at charity and community support. Gate City Lanes has always acted as a part of the community and not as a business. I am humbled at all the activities and charities Gate City Lanes supports. Thank you for allowing Guilford Park Presbyterian's youth to bowl during their fast. Thank you for supporting my impromptu Mom's group. Thank you for always having a smile and a kind word for me and my kids. In a world with economic, health, and emotional challenges, it is good to have friends & neighbors to offer support. I have always found Gate City Lanes to be a friend and neighbor - not just a place we go to bowl.
